Voting opens on 8 October for the 4 New Sensations competition which was launched this year for STUART artists graduating in the UK in 2007. You can vote for the four finalists chosen by the judges of the competition: Mie Olise Kjaergaard, Marcus Lanyon, Sarah Maple and Mark Melvin.
Earlier this year each of these '4 New Sensations' was awarded a bursary by Channel 4 to make a work of art. These four artists have also had a 3 Minute Wonder film made about them. These films, produced by Tiger Aspect, are being broadcast on Channel 4 during the week of 15 October. You can also watch these films below on the 4 New Sensations site.
Work by the 20 shortlisted graduates, including the 4 finalists, will go on view this week at an exhibition in London at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. The exhibition, sponsored by Coutts and the Zabludowicz Collection, is open from 10-14 October, 11am-7pm. It is a free exhibition and everyone is welcome. Voting for the winner of 4 New Sensations will close at midnight on Sunday 21 October and the ultimate winner, selected by public vote, will be announced on Monday 22 October.
The judges for the 4 New Sensations competition were artist Antony Gormley; the writer and broadcaster and Director of Exhibitions at White Cube gallery in London, Tim Marlow; Anita Zabludowicz, co-founder of the Zabludowicz Collection, a private contemporary art collection; Sadie Coles, director of the gallery Sadie Coles HQ; and Kevin Lygo, Channel 4's Director of Television and Content.
