Work of art I would like to make
I would like to construct two images that involve the layering of large backdrops within interior spaces. Concerned by environmental issues, I wish to offer through my photographs escapes into alternative landscapes where the reconstruction of new lands is made possible. This process that enables to approach ‘new perspectives’ within the single photographic canvas, will question the idea of aftermath landscapes. In the process of building these images, like a utopian and naive desire of restoration, I wish to oscillate between desolation, beauty and nostalgia. The images will be set in a derelict house in London where the frontal rooms will be ‘extended’ toward vast landscapes such as the end of a jetty surrounded by the sea. The journey inside the image will invite the viewer to enter the space as well as entering the narrative of a ‘make-believe’, bringing him into the game of a sublimated scope between fiction and reality in which one can identify the fragility of one’s own desires. |
