I sculpt and draw to communicate the power of human movement. Inspired by music and dance, I try to capture the physical and emotional force of
the
human body. From black and golden wax, to steel rods, to plaster, I
gravitate towards materials that echo the richness of the curves of the

Work of art I would like to make
The essence of what we all are comes across through human interaction
and
communication. As technology spreads into every avenue of human life,
the
desire to connect on a physical level with other humans for a sense of
grounding and comfort will be challenged by the curiosity to extend the
identity into a global identity. Ironically, we desire to be everywhere
and
meet everyone in order to improve our status within a local community.
In
twenty-five years, the simplicity of conversation will be the focal
point of
preserving this daily grounding. I believe as humans we will never
evolve as
fast as the pace we impose on technological globalization. To see eye to
eye
with another human will calm the senses from this chaos of technology. I will sculpt three human figures caught in motion and stillness whilst
exchanging moments of eye contact. For the viewer to gain an immediate
and physical relation with the work, these figures will be life-size. Their forms will remain open to interpretation because they will pass in and
out of realistic and abstract form. The entire gesture of one will guide the fragmentation of another, just as a conversation picks itself up and
drops itself over and over again. Rhythms of movement and speech will echo in curves of the human body. Humans can communicate pure joy and all other
emotions with the body alone!
