I am an Interdisaplinary Fine Artist. This work proposes that doodling can provide a gateway into subconscious imagery. The title references the psychoanalytical technique of active imagination. Addressing the divide between external and internal realities. It contrasts the studio environment, with a fantastical landscape, conceived as a map of thinking. The doodles subvert reality, creating fictional worlds that interact with viewer’s perception of the environment, investigating the transformative power of fantasy to compensate for the rougher edges of reality. The work also explores the status of language and what actually occurs in the mind.
The work relies heavily upon the viewer’s interaction and imagination, aiming to facilitate imaginings, introspection and fantastical speculation. Viewers are encouraged to construct their own meaning from the ambiguous imagery, which implies a narrative that is never told.

Work of art I would like to make
I should like to further explore the themes of reality, fiction and imagination. using further research into psychoanalysis. viewer participation is also a major part of my work and I would like to stretch the bonderies of what can be considered art, I see my work as a catalyst to the viewers imagination handing the final creating of 'art' to the viewer. and would propose an artwork that is created in the viewers imagination from minimal catalysts and so radically altering our perceptions of what art can be |
