Initially born in Bosnia, my family was exiled to Sweden as political refugees in the aftermath of the Balkan war. I now live and work in England with my english husband and our four rescued siamese cats. In my work I try to inhabit a life of my own, unconcerned with other peoples notion of 'reality' or 'normality'.
War,terror,fear and pain have been balanced by joy, extacy, adventure and exploration in my life. Studying at one of Sweden's top universities to gain my BA in Anthropology gave me a huge insight into culture, society, people and spirituality. To go on to study as a master of Anthropology in one of Europe's oldest establishments in Manchester filled out my understanding, gave words to my insight and meaning to my lifejourney. This has led me to combine my academic work with interactive arts and media, giving me life direction and expression to my experiences.
My paintings have been exhibited at Oriel Davies Gallery, my films have been picked for Chorlton Film Festival and my performances exhibited over a three year period.

Work of art I would like to make
For the 4 New Sensations I would like to make a performance piece. This would consist of 14 days spent in a gallery. Whilst day, day one would be the only day when performance is predetermined. Viewers would be invited to bring articles and suggestions to the performer and the following days perormance would be based on whatever is brought.
This is a comment on how people live in a modern world, without true direction or purpose but rather react to the stimulus that surrounds them i.e TV, commercial advertising, material wants, perceived goals imposed by others, or even behaviour patterns that they do not determine themselves.
