Work of art I would like to make
The Carpathian mountains, castles, arches, heroines, villains and velvet are the standards of such an ultimate Gothic experience, a moment of otherness and disruption.
Working predominantly in maquettes alongside a program of research in the studio, I intend to continue advancing towards real scale. Integrating sound, surface and lighting with these standards to construct a contrived, pseudo Gothic landscape intended to facilitate and examine the paradoxical pursuit of an intimate disruption through the universal language of Gothic.
Site-specific installation has evolved to be the natural mode for these ideas, so if chosen for the New Sensations I would seize the opportunity to identify and transform an appropriate aspect of the gallery, be it interior or exterior, ‘white space’ or other.
