Work of art I would like to make
The body as a subject for art is I believe a relevant and universal theme, something that continues to change and develop. I am very interested in exploring the impact of technology and consumption on the body, especially with consideration to isolation and the impact of the man-made artificial. I would like to continue creating images that have an uncomfortable, sinister feeling. I would like viewers to respond to the work in an impulsive way, to feel that their bodies are being absorbed and projected in the work. The body may exist very differently in 25 years' time, and I am very interested in the concept of the body becoming a more dissociated from ourselves, a sterile environment. I would like to continue exploring dialogues between materials that have a cold, sterile feeling, images suggesting succulence, flesh and desire and more artificial, suggestive, erotic materials. Rubber is also an important material for me currently and I would like to continue investigating its potential.
