I work with photography. I am currently interested in the mimetic qualities of artificial and constructed realities. I view the constructed environments as a "plaster cast", essentially sharing qualities with its referent, however realistic the replica, it can only refer to the original.

Work of art I would like to make
The work shown in this profile is from my degree series titled "In the Scene". The work is made in a theatre set. I would continue to produce work for this project. I wish to continue to interact with theatre sets. Using them for my own purposes. Essentially directing the oeuvre, manipulating the props. With funding I would be able to broaden my search for theatres, It would be fantastic to potentially target broadway shows in New York and other theatres around europe. I am particularly interested in working with sets which represent some form of landscape. The set shown in this profile was selected because it is a reproduction of a landscape. My general interest in photography lies within the landscape genre, however, in this work, I wanted to explore ideas of an unconventional landscape. There is a process involved when creating a landscape, as the land is transformed into landscape. The act of framing the land is a human activity, the frame a human construct. The theatre set is a representation of reality, a landscape contained within boundaries of the theatre, the stage and theatre acting as a frame for the landscape.
