Work of art I would like to make
I can tell now that the work has become too precious too valuable too fragile. i want to see a different art world where art is serious not because of its complexity and how precious it is but because it is straight forward, honest, simple and ho so not precious!!! in 25 years time we grow, we make new things, and in a world of commodity we keep spending and we keep changing.
Art will be more relaxed, it could fall, it could be destroyed, and it could still be important. important for us to understand what it is that we are doing.
If i get chosen as one as the four sensations i want create a body of works in which everything went wrong. ( the canvas ripped, wrapped, the paint pealed, the surface scratched...etc...) but by doing so i want these works to suggest something about the environment they are introduced in. I am interested in the power of making something in a very ridicules way to make us question the whole genre of making work in a serious way.
