Work of art I would like to make
Displacement: The current world climate operates largely under questions of origin and belonging for the individual and races. Led by market forces (legal and underground), people and communities are affected world wide. Self interest of some singular countries and a non-awareness effected by the self-propagation and world market domination of the Western world have a detrimental affect to the global populace. War, famine and natural disaster cause people to become displaced from origin and space. Results of this are refugees, people trafficking and oppression.
I would like to think that the world in general will have more awareness of the plight of those displaced, the time span of 25 years for this occurring is optimistic, but we are not without hope...
My intention is to produce work in response to the question of displacement in the modern world, which affects individuals and communities.
Painting and print are the vehicle of choice for representing the theme outlined.
