Amy Thomas (26 years old. Born in United Kingdom. Lives in: Cornwall) University College Falmouth
I make work to purposely create a duality and arouse feelings of confusion and frustration which may then strangely become enjoyable . It is about losing certainty of not knowing or knowing too much and the difficulty in communicating this. It is always a double sided reflected state of mind.
I see my work as I see universal experience. It is a language that functions like a membrane where communication and understanding can criss cross mix embrace-but never really be pinned down. I aim to create poetic responses, that go beyond the realm of instinct to reveal the indescribable and irrational.

Work of art I would like to make
Unseen State
Two houses facing each other. In one house figures are seen concealing the insides. The opposing house will show a person revealing and opening up the interior of the house to the outside world.
Opposing minds, Distorted vision, blind communication, unknown, indescribable, irrational interior and exterior experiences.
The difficulty in communicating this world.
Interrogated consciousness compulsion communication concealment mental state altered state endurance physical mental eluding reflecting distorting reverie ritual untold uncanny avoidance light impossible communication living thinking before habit isolation ‘doing time’ mailgram motion experiment geometrical structures of light and dark I blinded impossible communication irrational eluding pacing ritual impossible weariness isolation regurgitation Sisyphus and psychological interrogation thought experiment Pavlov suspended light to black pupil internal congregated voyeurism distorted reflected suspended.
