For my degree show, I aimed to highlight the amount and variety of waste that is generated by man in contemporary society. I want to convey to the viewer that waste is not just material but can also be intangible. Taken from the viewpoint of a non-human observer, I have presented a series of artworks made entirely from objects that would routinely be discarded or recycled. Work of art I would like to make

With the right access to discarded objects and waste materials, I envisage making a totem pole representing the varieties of waste that humankind produces and the dangers that these waste materials pose to the the planet in the near future. The totem pole would ideally be displayed in a public space to provoke thought in those that view it of how they can contribute to a healthier environment for all life. I have chosen a totem pole because I was influenced greatly by primitive art for my degree pieces and I believe it would translate extremely well to the subject matter.
