In my art I embarked on using myself ‘the artist’ as the art. The ‘captive’ developed by dressing up to blur the gender of the artist but also to develop the captive as a curiousity to a spectator culture.
The two pieces worked as projections on to the floor and gave the illusion of a female in lingerie digging a pit.(Ritual)and confronting the viewer.(zoo)
The third piece(Absent) was a performance when I dressed up and marked the wall with a piece of chalk and this was to be remembered by all who viewed it.
