My sculptural work plays a translating and channeling role in my life. Deep feelings that used to lay asleep in me become materialized through the creative process. The outcome of this process, mostly conscious but unconscious at times, is always a big surprise, as my sculptures catch glimpses of my soul; memories, feelings, experiences, etc. The human figure is what captures my feelings, dreams, hopes and fears the most. I intend to embody my emotions with foam and with the lifelike quality of leather. The transition from the intended message to the final outcome is an exciting and unpredictable journey.

Work of art I would like to make
During the last year of my studies I have managed to find a sculptural language that I feel closer to my own truth. It allows me to express my deepest emotions inasmuch as it enables me to find a new framework to evolve.
Leather, nails and foam are the expressive resources that I have used up until now. From now onwards I would like to combine these with other materials such as bronze without sacrificing the skin-like quality that my prior work had achieved. Thus, from a foam structure I would create a leather sculpture in order to make a cast from which to make a bronze reproduction. With this process I would not lose the lifelike quality of leather and I would add the strength and the assertiveness of metal.
I am interested in researching the sculptural possibilities of bronze and to see to what extent a hard cold material can acquire the properties of skin. I will also go deeper into the representation of the human figure by playing with proportions and dimensions. In other words, reflect real feelings through unreal forms.
