Graeme Gerard Halliday (30 years old. Born in United Kingdom. Lives in: Dundee) Duncan of jordanstone College of art
You don’t know me yet “ Graeme Gerard Halliday” but you will very soon, I am just about to become famous!
For my degree show this year my work attempts look at the Critical interpretation of the Aesthetic
constructions of society and Art is my main focal point. The human body is the main focus of my work and through consumerism We have become the product. Self-legitimacy has been overridden with Post-modern theorists commenting on the human condition in contemporary society, stating that we live in a world of hyper-realty, which consists of fabricated idealisms. The body is projected as an object of perfection and commodity subverts the status quo, thus infusing non-truths and blurred realities. The branded body only has legitimacy when consuming and thus being consumed.

Work of art I would like to make
The body in consumerism as a product can be used to my advantage through, the manipulation of consumerism. I will produce a performance piece, based on the sculptural figure that I have created for my degree show. Within the piece I shall bring the figure to its visceral state through a process of reconstruction. The body gains its legitimacy by shedding the leaves of consumerism: an elaborate deception.
The concept for the performance will consist of two people standing adjacent to one another. The performers will be painted white and will be wearing masks that that will spray water from the nozzle tip similar in vain to the sculptures. These performers will spray one another consecutively; they will begin the process of cleansing the body from its plastic state, through its return to the organic aesthetic. The Duration of the piece will last up to one hour
