I have just completed a B.A.(Hons) in fine art through Bangor University's Lifelong Learning department after many years art and jewellery work. Biological research and its application has been the starting point for my work, also bringing in ideas about cryogenics, extrapolated from the practice of freezing embryos in fertility clinics and ideas about attempts to clone extinct species from frozen specimens. Work of art I would like to make

I have been casting small fish made from tomato juice after thinking about the tomatoes with added fish genes. For my show the fish on the vine were made from fimo to aid transportation. I would love to have access to the technology to be able to create larger sculptures along these lines for instance a life sized frozen sculpture of a lamb cast in human blood. I like the idea of possibly showing this encapsulated in a block of ice. This example would have different meanings to different people, with many possibly thinking of a religious concept. Although that wasn't my original idea I would like my work to mean different things to different individuals. I admire the work of Marc Quinn and see that this may be compared to his work, but feel that I am adding my own concepts.
