I construct paintings from making, looking and thinking about painting. The process has a physical and conceptual plurality that allows me to be self-analytical in the way I address the work. Work of art I would like to make
The Theme appeals to me because of the sense of unknowing around the future. I work with a large volume of small paintings, and my work has its own pace, I cannot predict that a painting will be finished as i respond to imediate descions and results in the painting process. The nature of the work allows a discourse to emerge through the paintings as they are made, looked at and thought about by maker and viewer.
The paintings are often sanded and rubbed back giving an aged look, which puts them into a bracket of a timeliness and uncertainty of when they were made.
