Me; dramatic, bold, emotional and always have something to say. My work; dramatic, bold, emotional and I hope always says something to the viewer. I don't see my practice as an expression of myself rather my opinions and tastes which are a lot more interesting and varied. My practice is in essence a performance me airing a certain interest on the stage of public spectacle and its continuation is through the response it garners. In this manner I restrict myself but equally allow for any means to express myself.

Work of art I would like to make

In 25 years time I'll be 46 years old, and have experienced a lot more and learned a lot more than I have now. At 46 my practice will be greatly evolved into what who knows? But if selected the work I would make be 25 dresses each based upon literary or fictional characters to illustrate the possibilities of what my life could be on the road to 46. The physical manifestation of each of these dresses becomes a stark reminder of how tightly wound our own perceptions of self are with non-existent characters as portrayed in media. The narrative of each piece will become a tangled and perhaps separate affair from the one to follow it. Employing different methodologies of constructing the dresses and expressing their character will add to the immense labyrinth of fictions we surround ourselves in. And ultimately ask now and in the future can we ever truly know and be ourselves?
