university of Hertfordshire

Marie Kleiberova born in Czech Republic have, been living in London since 2001. In my studio practice I use medium of print, photography and digital imaging. What I am introducing here are digitally manipulated images, created from photographs of landscape mostly taken in deep forests. With combination of more images layered one over another I am creating new surreal or fantastical landscapes pushing the boundaries of the landscape image and exploring those sinister and mysterious atmospheres. By putting romantic setting in contrast with abstract forms I am transforming a real place into a fantasy and mystical landscape. I am inspired by romantically charged places and moments in nature. My aim is to change the perception of these moments and places, moving away from reality of the image itself.

Was I given a chance to exhibit some of my work in the Saatchi Gallery I would concentrate on photography itself, rather than digitally modified images and further explore the theme of capturing various landscapes possibly trying to create a twist to the original set up by using different angles, reflection and arranging objects in a focus of my camera, therefore become actively involved in the making of the composition.
