Work of art I would like to make

I propose to work on a large triptych. This will allow me to explore the progression of time as the image moves on to the next canvas. In my work I explore how the illusion of depth can be created through layers of think linseed oil tinted with white. This pushes the image and the colour back increasing the depth of the painting. This along with clear perspective creates a skewed sense of time. As the triptych moves forward the imagery and colour will be pushed further back so it becomes further away, leaving the viewer displaced with the end of the work as one is also displaced from any accurate idea of what the future holds. I am intrigued by the loss of colour as the work continues, not solely to bring a sense of bleakness to the picture but to hint at the idea that when oil runs out it will not only be machines that cease to work but oil painters may run out of paint...
The central theme to my work is the conflict between the organic forms of idealised landscapes and the artificiality of modern structures and technologies. This enables me to make relevant work to the world today and in many ways about the world tomorrow or 25 years away.
The triptych would, ideally, be 6 metres long in total and 3 metres high, with a 10 cm gap between each canvas. The stretchers would be 2.5cm deep to bring the picture closer to the wall to look less like a painting and more like a projection, this closeness will again excaberbate the illusion of depth, as if one is looking into a glimpse of the future through a portal in the wall.My studio is big enough for me to work on this scale. The medium will be oil on canvas.
