"Nostalgia Isn't What It Use To Be" I am interested in used domestic spaces and the objects within. I collect quotidian objects that remind me of myths, legends, film and theater. I look for an everyday person that will role-play and re-enact the myth by interacting with the objects I collect. These re-enactments are a combination of the found object, the original myth or story, the model as object and the home of the model as the stage. This series focuses on past popular film and the everyday objects that ignite fan nostalgia. Film and theater provide a platform where myths are exercised through the aesthetic and performative, this involves an interaction with objects. Through this we make associations through the memory of films to the objects around us. The photo is the final result in this process. The printed photo converts the temporal experience into a material object, a souvenir, and an archive. It becomes a form of fetishism the same way that nostalgic objects and fan souvenirs are. I use photo documentation in order to show a snapshot that represents the limitations in memory, the gaps in history and the gaps in archiving. Through archiving, the photo tries to preserve the experience and the death of the memory, in a sense prepetuating and ensuring nostalgia. But at the same time, the photo represents the vanished and becomes an allegory of death.

Work of art I would like to make

I would like to continue working with Nostalgia, particularly "Armchair Nostalgia" Armchair Nostalgia is a form of Nostalgia that longs for things that have never truly been lived or lost (ie Trekkies; aka Star Trek Fans).

However, I would like to focus more on British nostalgia and British Popular Culture. Focusing on things such as David Bowie and the "The New Romantics". This was a movement in the 1980's in London at places such as the Blitz.

With the re-enactments and documentation as the final form, I am also interested in experimenting with video to show along-side the photo's.
