Work of art I would like to make
The western world is littered with imagery from the media.On one hand there is beauty to be found in the abundance of artificial shape and colour but on the other it is destructive of what natural forms and colours we can find in built up areas.Iam interested in capturing the intense collision of these two types of beauty regarding the issue of consumerism and excessive material usage. I intend to produce a triptych of paintings, rich in colour and over textured to communicate the rapid gross use of material in soceity. The subject matter will be focused on food consumerism which is an integral part of my investigation into quantity of materials and aesthetic overload.My approach to the world in twenty five years will be one demonstrating the mass use of artificial colour and shape and how the beauty derived from this will merge into a merky palette of waste material and incognitive shape and form. Use of chance mark making and figurative subject matter will intensify these paintings. |
