Projekt30 is taking submissions for its monthly publicly juried exhibition, scheduled to open October 1st, 2007. We are an artist- run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. The exhibition will include thirty artists; invitations will be distributed to over 50,000 galleries, collectors, and fellow artists. All artwork submitted will be presented online prior to the exhibition so visitors of Projekt30 may help select which artists will be included in the exhibition. The Ohio Arts Council offers several programs for individual artists.

The program supports artist-initiated projects that are collaborative art-making experiences with a specific community and that result in the creation of new work. Projects underscore the fundamental and transformative role of the arts in daily life. They also illuminate the creative vitality of Ohio

The awards are peer recognition of creative artists for the exceptional merit of a body of work that advances or exemplifies the discipline and the larger artistic community. These awards support artists' growth and development and recognize their work in Ohio and beyond. Awards are offered in the following areas: choreography, crafts, fiction/nonfiction, poetry, playwriting/screenplays, criticism, design arts/illustration, interdisciplinary/performance art, media arts, music composition, photography and visual arts. The anonymous review process is not project-based; awards are based solely on the quality of past work. The awards are either $5,000 or $10,000. Grant amounts are determined by the review panel. Recipients are required to sign a Grant Agreement with the OAC. The awards may be used for any purpose designated by the receiving artists except to pursue a degree-granting program.

The OAC believes that encouraging Ohio

This program provides one or two year grants to support activities that enhance the quality of and access to learning in the arts for learners of all ages, backgrounds, experience levels and abilities. Effective and sustainable arts learning projects and programs are achieved through strong collaborations or partnerships. In this category, priority is given to collaborative efforts that emphasize skill acquisition and direct participation in and access to quality arts experiences. Additional priorities include fostering commitment to arts learning in school and community settings and supporting research, evaluation, and scholarship about teaching and learning in the arts. Grant amounts in this program generally do not exceed 50% of the project budget. The Arts Partnership program requires a 1:1 cash match. Applicants may request a minimum of $4,000 and as much as $25,000 per year.

This program strives to keep alive Ohio's traditional and folk arts by supporting collaborations between master artists and dedicated apprentices who are preserving their ethnic, occupational, regional group, community, or family traditions that have been passed down for generations. The program provides support for a master artist and one or more apprentices to work together in an intensive individual study program that preserves traditional art forms of Ohio residents. Examples of traditional arts include, but are not limited to, Polish paper cutting, blues music, stone carving, Appalachian fiddling, embroidery, Laotian khene playing, icon painting, Irish step dancing, woodcarving, Chicano corridor singing, quilting, tamburitza music and polka.
