Perrysburg Ohio is a thriving historic community located on the banks of the Maumee River. Rich in culture and heritage Perrysburg is a scenic setting for a one year temporary sculpture exhibit. This affluent community with a population of 20,000 supports year round cultural events. The warm months bring tens of thousands of visitors into the area for 3 successful art festivals, 36 summer concerts, 18 visual art exhibits, a regional car show, First Friday Street Fests, and much more in historic downtown. During the cold months the flow of tourists continues as residents and visitors attend annual parades, fall festivities, holiday tree lighting events, and indoor concerts. The Perrysburg Area Arts Council will place sculptures in strategic locations that will enhance the sculptures, and capitalize on public viewing opportunities during community events and sculpture exhibit promotional programs. Sales are encouraged with a print catalogue, project website, docent tours and on-site map. Prize money: 1st Prize: $2000, 2nd Prize: $750, 3rd: $500. This show is open to all sculptors working in durable, outdoor sculpture materials. Artists Call for Inaugural Festival of Visual and Performing Arts in Downtown Phoenix
Valley Fever is an all ages un-gated weekend Festival of the Arts with music, dance, poetry, interactive performance art, and theatrical performances on multiple stages and throughout the festival grounds at Heritage & Science Park in downtown Phoenix, AZ; visual arts studios on site and open-air workshops with participating artists and local arts educators to demonstrate art making and encourage arts practice by the public; temporary public art installations will be constructed before and during the Festival.
In addition to the ongoing stage and street performance, food booths provided by local restaurants will sell refreshments, and art and craft work will be for sale by juried artists. Valley Fever Arts Festival will present a special Festival-in-the-Festival: Tequilaaz! on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Lath House at Heritage & Science Park.
Valley Fever will also provide programming for SMoCA Nights,
March 12 at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Arts.
