Dear In Christ
Christ Vision Centre is a Faith-Based Organization (FBO) based in Nairobi Kenya. Like any other FBOs in the country, it plays a pivotal role in articulating, taking cue from the government policy and to combat irritelate at community level.
Young people are at the centre of the pandemic in terms of transmission, impact and potential for changing the attitudes and behaviour that underlie this disease. In order for young people to take the risks that are important for their development and avoid those that will do them irreparable harm, their rights to health and development need to be fulfilled. This includes their rights to information and skills, a range of services, a safe and supportive environment, and opportunities to participate. Frequently, this is not the case.
Our mission has a vision to implement a children’s home where orphans and young people with AIDS will be taken care of through:-
Basic education support
Medical care
Counseling and emotional support
Nutritional support
Other supports activities on ad hoc basis e.g. clothing
Our Mission President wishes to visit your organization in discussion and assistance towards the project sustainability. Please arrange for his visit

Residencies at Atelier de la Rose
http://www.french-rose.com/studio_form.php
|
|
Where: Montcabrier, France
Deadline: open call
Atelier de la Rose is small. That means it is able to offer a personal and flexible service that is unique. There are no fixed dates for residencies, no deadlines, and the studio can be booked for one to six weeks. This is not an establishment that is run by managers or an impersonal organisation or committee. The owner lives on site and has had a long involvement with the visual arts. She has 2 degrees in art and design history and was married to the artist and lecturer, Ed Herring, until his untimely death in 2003. Her understanding of how artists work makes the place special. Of course the facilities, situated in a medieval hilltop village in southwest France, are the additional attractions!

Where: Estonia
When: 2008
Deadline: ongoing
POLLI TALU ARTS CENTER www.pollitalu.org in Estonia is accepting applications throughout the fall of 2007 for residencies in 2008. Please visit our residency page www.pollitalu.org/english/residencies/res.english.html directly for conditions and application procedures.
Polli Talu (literally, 'Polly's Farm') is a traditional Estonian farm complex situated near the Baltic Sea, 150 km southwest of the capital city Tallinn, not far from the port town of Virtsu. It consists of five log buildings with thatched roofs made from locally-harvested reeds. The structures date back to the beginning of the 20th century.
Marika Blossfeldt, an Estonian who had left her native country as a very young child to live in Germany and, later, New York City, welcomed the opportunity to purchase Polli's Farm in 1995. Her vision was to transform the complex into an international arts center. The opportunity to purchase the property and realize her vision arose only after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
In 1998 Polli Talu Arts Center was registered as a non-profit organization in Estonia. 1999 marked the first season of artistic and educational activities at Polli Talu Arts Center.

Residencies for Artists, Writers, and Cultural Producers
http://www.elsewhereelsewhere.org/residencies.html
|
|
Elsewhere, an arts production site and experimental museum in downtown Greensboro, NC, is seeking artists, writers, and cultural producers for residencies during its Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. Set within a former thrift store housing a 58-year collection of American surplus, thrift, and antiques, Elsewhere invites experimental creators to utilize the immense collection of objects to pursue site-specific material, conceptual, and/or technologically-based projects. Elsewhere's building—two storefronts on the ground floor, a 14-room boarding house on the second, and warehouse on the third—provides dynamic architectures for the creation and installation of works. Artists live and work within transforming installations; these interactive environments become platforms for re-conceptualizing the theory and practice of art-making as an ongoing process of exchange in community. Experimenting with museum-as-medium within a store where nothing is for sale, Elsewhere offers an unparalleled framework for art practices, processes, and productions outside the traditional gallery, museum, and residency systems. The complete call for artists, residency brochure (PDF), and application deadlines are available at www.elsewhereelsewhere.org/residencies.html. Email George Scheer, Collaborative Director, at residencies@elsewhereelsewhere.org for an application. Elsewhere Artist Collaborative, 606 South Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27406. www.elsewhereelsewhere.org. We review applications at the end of each month. The residency season runs from April through October.

Great opportunity for artists: Culture is the true identity power. In this context the major role of the artists is to promote through art cultural diversity and preserve common values. Intercultural dialogue through art is an important instrument. Art is not a means - art is a space in which everything is possible, in which different times, subjects and objects, sometimes divergent, coexist. And not just coexist, but communicate and create values. Through art, culture, tolerance, initiating a dialogue among nations, among various artistic expressions, a real dialog among real people.
