For Main Campus from London direction (M2/A2): Leave A2 at first Canterbury exit. Go straight on at the roundabout along the dual carriageway. At the next roundabout follow the ring-road around to the right.
Go straight on to the ring road anti-clockwise, keeping to the outside lane, prepare to turn right immediately before the second light-controlled pedestrian crossing into Lady Wootton's Green.
Turn left at the mini-roundabout, right at the T-junction with Havelock Street and right again at the next T-junction into North Holmes Road. The campus is now on your right. The main entrance to the College is via Gate 4. (See Campus Plan).

The Department of Art at Canterbury Christ Church University offers undergraduate courses in 2D Fine Art (Canterbury and Folkestone) as well as a postgraduate MA course in Fine Arts/Ceramics to suit a wide range of students.
The undergraduate courses 'Contemporary Fine Art Practices'(Canterbury) and 'Visual Art and Professional Practice' (Folkestone)are presently recruiting for Session 07/08. Subject to Validation (now in progress) they will commence in October 2007.
The postgraduate programme MA Fine Art/Ceramics is presently recruiting for the Session 07/08.

Professional artist to share expertise with visitors at city centre Gallery
15 February 2007
Visitors to the Sidney Cooper Gallery on Saturday 3rd March will have the opportunity to learn from and create art with a professional artist as part of the ‘Botticelli’s Babes’ exhibition.
Professional artist and member of Ashford Visual Artists (AVA), Vikky Furse, will be in Canterbury Christ Church University’s Sidney Cooper Gallery, St Peter’s Street, Canterbury, from 11.30am to 1.30pm. She will present a slide show of her work, demonstrate a pastel portrait and provide the opportunity for visitors to experiment in pastel portraits.
The event marks the beginning of the AVA exhibition ‘Botticelli’s Babes’ that will be displayed at the Gallery from Saturday 3rd March to Saturday 17th March. Using a wide variety of media, the exhibition transcribes Italian artist Sandro Botticelli’s ‘Primavera’ (1948).

Broadly, all undergraduate programmes are structured as three successive levels of learning. Students progress steadily from a tutor-led initial period toward ever-increasing levels of independent study and self-directed work.

Postgraduate Courses MA in Fine Arts/Ceramics Location: Canterbury Campus
Introduction
The College offers one year full-time, or two years part-time practical programmes for graduate students seeking to develop professional status in Fine Art or Ceramics.
Parts of the MAs relate to matters of business and creative survival which include commercial outlets and galleries, professional practices (e.g., in portfolio presentation), relationships with dealers, and legal issues such as copyright and accountancy.
It must, however, be stressed that this is not a business studies programme, and, while they find such matters important, the greatest business asset of professional artists is the quality of their creative work.
Programme Aims and Structure
The MA courses offer specialisms within Fine Art, under the headings of painting, sculpture and printmaking. Specialism in ceramics is shown separately in the title of the MA since it may include a design component, according to student preference, but the course structure is the same.

St. George's Fitness Centre
The St. George's Fitness Centre is one of the most well equipped gyms in the centre of the city. No other fitness facility in central Canterbury can boast a comprehensive free weights training room, spacious gym area, a large multi-purpose exercise studio. In addition, our Treatment Room provides a range of therapies to complement any physical activity and to relieve daily stresses.
Where is it ?
The Fitness Centre is located in the St. George's parade of shops on the New Dover Road (Canterbury), adjacent to the entrance to the ALDI supermarket and only 5 minutes walk from the University's North Holmes Road Campus and from Augustine House.

The Department of Admissions is a central office within the University. Admissions is concerned with the recruitment of students for the University. It deals with the whole process, from initial enquiries until the day of enrolment.
Admissions is responsible for the receipt of application forms, arranging interviews, offering places, and all related communication. Admissions staff also represent the University at recruitment fairs and arrange advertising for a range of courses.
The Admissions Department works to consistently achieve the student recruitment targets set by the University's Senior Management Team.
