International Admissions
CAFA Academic Year(s) check list for international applicants (not for summer international program applicants): 1. Complete on line CAFA application or send application form by certified mail or FEDEX to: The Central Academy of Fine Arts International Office No.8, Hua Jia Di Nan Jie, Chaoyang District Beijing 100102, P.R.China 2. Quality photocopy of your passport 3. Send six (6) slides or pdf files that is reflective of your current art work, slides of your art must be sent by FEDEX with other supporting material) 4. Two (2) letters of recommendations (please refer to application form) 5. Sealed transcripts with school stamp sent from your last two schools attended (please refer to application form) 6. One page proposal of study plans at CAFA 7. HSK score (Chinese proficiency test for international academic year students) 8. Two pages of recent writing on art history or art theory for students applying as art history or art theory majors 9. Recent medical history sent by your physician or health care provider (this information will be kept confidential) 10. Proof of medical insurance Application deadlines and entrance requirements 1. Completed applications for undergraduate and non-degree study must be postmarked by May 31st, no examination is required. 2. Completed applications for Masters degree study at CAFA are accepted in mid-October. Please note that the deadline dates are according to the Chinese lunar calender. Please e-mail us for the exact dates application are due. An entrance examination is required in January for both Chinese and international applicants. 3. Completed applications for PhD. study at CAFA are accepted in April. Please note that the deadline dates are according to the Chinese lunar calender. Please e-mail us for the exact dates application are due. An entrance examination is required in May for both Chinese and international applicants. 4. HSK (The Chinese Proficiency Test) score required for international applicants:
Non-degree students: HSK Level 3 Undergraduate: HSK Level 4 Masters: HSK Level 6 PhD. and Docterate Programs: HSK Level 9
Note: No HSK score is required for CAFA Summer International Program applicants. Application and tuition fees An application processing fee for all academic year applicants is 800.00 yuan (RMB) in Chinese currency which is the equivalent to U.S.D. $100.00. Academic year tuition fees are as follows:
Undergraduate: 40,000 RMB - U.S.D. $5,000
Masters: 45,000 RMB - U.S.D. $5,600
PhD. and Docterate Programs: 50,000 RMB - U.S.D. $6,250
Non-degree programs:
Students who are pursueing their art in a non-degree program at CAFA: RMB. 40,000 - U.S.D. $5,000
Students with a degree who are pursueing postgraduate study in close consultation with faculty: RMB - 45,000 - U.S.D. $5,600
Medical Insurance Medical insurance is only provided for government exchange students. All other applicants must provide proof of insurance with their application.
