Student Testimonials - Goldsmiths, University of London
Name: Eve Babette Wolff-Evans
Age: 19
Course: BA (Hons) Drama and English
Year of study: 2
"When I sat down to pick my university choices I was adamant that the university I chose had to tick all the boxes, I wasn’t going to settle for anything less. One of the main points I was looking for was that it’s a well-recognised institution and respected by future employers. I wanted a worthy and credible place and that is why I chose Goldsmiths. For me the fact that it is in London, where the theatre scene is huge, is a real bonus. I’m just down the road from Shaftsbury Avenue, which I love.
Going to university in London is a great way to network and meet interesting people, both socially and professionally. I have only been at Goldsmiths for a year and it has already bought me a month’s work experience in a casting agency, with the opportunity to continue working there as and when I want.
I wanted the university I chose to challenge me and match my expectations. Goldsmiths certainly does that with the wide variety of theoretical and practical work on my course, challenging me to try new things every step of the way. I wanted to mix with ambitious students such as myself and share ideas with likeminded individuals. The people I have met at Goldsmiths certainly match these criteria. No two of us are the same and I love that!
My time at Goldsmiths so far has been better than I ever could have imagined. I have got to know so many new people and studied aspects of my course that I didn’t even know existed. My tutors have been excellent and the social life is pretty good too. I love the mixture of subjects I have chosen and the environment I am studying in is perfect for me. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
