London’s international contemporary photography fair: new concept, new management, new venue
New concept: Contemporary photography since 1970
A departure from previous editions of photo-london, originally founded by Daniel Newburg, the new fair now focuses exclusively on contemporary photography since 1970. As a hotbed of contemporary art Britain has produced some of the world’s leaders in contemporary photography. photo-london aims to show the diversity of subjects, concepts, styles and techniques explored by artists working with photography, from documentary work to conceptual art photography, as well as multi-media incorporating audio, video, and installation. photo-london will provide a unique platform to highlight the latest international trends, placing London firmly back as the leading market-place and centre for contemporary photographic production.

New venue: Old Billingsgate
photo-london will take place from 31 May–3 June, 2007 in an exceptional venue, Old Billingsgate, a magnificent 19th-century market building on the edge of the City on the Thames designed by Sir Horace Jones and entirely renovated in 1988 by acclaimed architect Sir Richard Rogers. With 7,800 square metres of floor space, photo-london will host 56 exhibitors – international galleries, publishers and art magazines.

New Selection 2007:
As part of its commitment to present the best of contemporary photography, a committee of international art dealers* was established to ensure that the fair meets the highest international standards, by selecting the participating galleries according to the quality of the specific projects submitted as well as their conformity to the fair’s new concept. Consequently, previous participants who presented work prior to 1970 will not feature in this year’s edition.

Tickets can only be picked up on presentation
of the credit card used for payment
