burning my negatives |
Dear all,
Some of you in Israel might have read the article from Noam Dvir, last month, about my decision to destroy my Tel-Aviv negatives.
The others who kindly followed my work, in France, holland or elsewhere might not be aware of it yet.
I found necessary to give to this action a bit more of explanations. Some of you might find all this a bit childish or stupid, but I cannot just sit on what is for me an unacceptable paradoxe.
Feel free to forward the link: http://telaviv100.canalblog.com/
Cheers

See this is what happens when the work is not made with the integrity of an artistic statement, but with the ( perhaps unrealised ) intentions of the work repaying the artist.
Why burn the negs? no one will cry themselves to sleep over the surposed "Loss" other than the Artist, and only then if the intented act is as a result of frustrations, rather than as I think it may be an attempt to create a last ditch stir of interest from buyers with the surgestion of a "Limited number" of prints avalible for purchase after this laughable hissy fit.
Good luck to you if you raise a few bob from it, but it isn't enhanceing your work, just your bank account and any one can do that with or with out artistic vision, forget about the price. |

yeah....such as i feel lak' doing myself once in a while the ANGER just flares uP! i only hope to help my family and gain some independence, economic (and, otherwise) i HAVE got the nothing to lose. but, it keeps coming; i know people who unnerstand and others who enjoy IT. celebrity success money? what about the oil wars, the water wars, the et alia of the failure of EVERYTHING 'cept want, need and exploitation. i keep at IT 'cuz i KNOW (somewhere, somewhen, somewhy) somebody will see what i do SEE it?
