Inspiriert von der Formsprache des japanischen Holzschnitts und der japanischen Raumkunst, der Sprache der futuristischen Mangacomics und Computerspiele sowie der sinnlichen, bunten, kitschigen Welt der amerikanischen und japanischen Verpackungsästhetik, geht die hier gezeigte Werkschau Andrea Lehmanns eine eigentümliche Synthese von Tradition und "Neuer Welt" ein.

Mädchenbilder im grünen Wald, viele Selbstporträts, aufgesplittert allerdings in gute und böse Ichs. Kitsch pur herrscht da, aber kombiniert mit Ursprünglichem. Alles wirkt überzogen und doch verletzlich. Die Motive stammen aus dem Internet und der eigenen Phantasie. Sie sind herzzerreißend schön und übersteigert.

Die Bilder Andrea Lehmanns erzählen Geschichten. Waren bislang Tiger oder Hasen die Protagonisten, so spielen blasshäutige Mädchengestalten die Hauptrollen in ihren neuesten Arbeiten. Umgeben von Rehkitzen leben diese Mädchen, in ihren weißen Gewändern wie ätherische Erscheinungen von Prinzessinnen oder Elfen in einem dunklen Wald, der traditionellen Kulisse für die Märchen unserer Kindheit. Nur hier begegnet man ihnen, nur im Märchenwald der Andrea Lehmann.
