In
perspective, Raedecker's suburban ideal of utopian design
is dissected to its most primary components. Set to the angled
patio grid, the scene sits uncomfortably in space: the house
a shimmering optical confusion of threaded lines, the trees
trailing off in the distance are an organic puzzle of doodle-ish
whimsy. Raedecker draws attention not to the placid subject
matter, but to how it has been rendered strange and surreal. |
