Hafez began to explore his interest in art while pursuing a degree in medicine; during his sophomore year, Hafez began attending night school at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Helwan University. While he finished both degrees with excellent marks, he began hopping from job to job to support himself as an artist. “I (have) worked many jobs throughout my life: TV translator, art director, graphic designer, you name it,” Hafez says.
