More information on Tracey Emin

whitecube.com
Tracey Emin was born in London in 1963 but brought up in Margate, Kent. Emin completed an MA in painting at the Royal College of Art and her interest in the expressionist works of Munch and Schiele informed the paintings she produced at that time.

guardian.co.uk - Tracey Emin by Ashley Davies
To celebrate her stint as guest editor of Weekend magazine, we bring you the best the web has to offer on the artist who likes to call herself 'Mad Tracey from Margate'

tate.org.uk - Tate Magazine, Issue 1 by Melanie McGrath.
I've never given Tracey Emin much real thought. Until a few weeks ago I passed her off as the artist who displayed her bed in the Tate and lurched about pissed on TV. I'm of a mind to blame celebrity for this, because of course Tracey Emin is a celebrity. A big one. The kind who only has to sneeze to make it into the red tops.

egs.edu - Toby Litt New Statesman
I feel very awkward writing about Tracey Emin, because we used to be lovers. What's most embarrassing is that I knew nothing about our relationship, even when our affair was at its height. Plus she was cheating on me — cheating on me with everyone else in the world, cheating on me with you.

- Show and Tell: The Observer Interview by Lynn Barber.
Even in an interview, Tracey Emin wants to show you things, wants to spread her whole life out before you. Her studio in Brick Lane in London is anyway full of things to look at — the blankets she is making for her new White Cube show, the wedding dress she wears in her Beck's Futures film, dozens of drawings on the floor waiting for the framers.

sussex.ac.uk - Tracey Emin’s My Bed, 1998/1999 by Deborah Cherry
Tracey Emin’s My Bed, short-listed in autumn 1999 for the Turner Prize, presents a base supporting a mattress, on top of which are rumpled sheets, pillows, panty-hose and a towel; cluttered alongside is an assortment of items from vodka bottles to slippers and underwear, cigarette packs to condoms and contraceptives, Polaroid (self) portraits to a white fluffy toy.

tate.org.uk
The BT Series is a new initiative for Tate Online and features interactive video interviews with artists. You can explore works in Tate's Collection with the artist but also have an opportunity to ask the artist some questions about their work. Tracey Emin is one of the most prominent members of the generation of young artists that emerged in London in the early 1990s.

findarticles.com - Tracey Emin: Stedelijk Museum - Reviews: Amsterdam
Only a handful of contemporary artists are household names. In England, at least, Tracey Emin tops the list. I began to understand why a few years ago when she walked into an opening and immediately this warm, happy feeling went through me: Ah, there's my pal Tracey! I had to quickly remind myself that Ms. Emin and I had never actually met.
