With the theme "visualize our values" Danfoss A/S is launching an international art award for students within visual arts, design or architecture. The total award sum is 100.000 EUR, and the artwork will be evaluated by jury members of international renown.
"The award is created to encourage a dialogue about the Danfoss values in a language, which is entirely different from our everyday technical and commercial language", says Project Director Torben Fich, Danfoss, "we believe that this initiative will contribute to keeping our values alive, and at the same time stimulate creativity and innovation, elements which we believe are vital for Danfoss' continued positive contribution to the global marketplace as well as the local community. We also believe that this initiative will further enhance the communication and understanding between the industrial world and society."

Students are invited to submit photos of their artwork together with a descriptive text in English via the homepage. Deadline for applying is 7 September 2007. The jury will subsequently select a number of artwork that shall be physically submitted for final evaluation.
The total award sum is 100.000 EUR, but may be raised if the number and quality of artworks justify this. The jury will nominate a number of artworks for gold, silver and bronze awards, which will each be awarded an amount of 5.000 EUR, 3.000 EUR and 2.000 EUR, respectively.
The challenge to the art students is express the Danfoss' mission statement, values, and aspirations. They can choose between 8 statements and translate them into an artistic language:
