Congratulations to all the artists registered on Saatchi Online who exhibited their work at SCOPE Basel last week. The Saatchi Online stand was a huge success - 25 works were sold at the fair on a non-commission basis and there has been an overwhelming level of interest from collectors, gallerists, dealers and other people visiting the stand. The artists who sold work are: Lena Sadziak, Maurizio Anzeri, Jaap de Vries, Marco Salvetti, Teiji Hayama, Aleksandra Radonich, Angelika J Trojnarski and Giacomo Brunelli. All the artists who exhibited their work at SCOPE are listed below.

Maurizio Anzeri

MAURIZIO ANZERI graduated in 2005 from the Slade School of Fine Art, London with an MA in Fine Art (Sculpture). In 2006 he had a solo show at Galleria Palladio, Lugano, and he has exhibited work in many group shows, most recently at ArteFiera, Bologna, Museo CAMEC, La Spezia, and the Kunsthalle Lucarno in Switzerland. He has also collaborated on projects with the late Isabella Blow, Alexander McQueen and Eley Kishimoto. In the January 2008 edition of Flash Art, Anzeri was selected as one of the top 100 young emerging artists. In July he will show work in a group show at WILDE Gallery, Berlin, and in September he will be part of a group show at the Museo delle Icone Russe in Pisa. Anzeri will have a solo show in November at IMAGEArt in Arezzo.

Giacomo Brunelli, 'Untitled (Blind Dog)', 2007

GIACOMO BRUNELLI was born in Perugia, Italy in 1977. This year he has shown his work at the Crane Kalman Gallery, Brighton, UK, the Iris Centre, Paris, and at the Fotofestiwal in Lodz, Poland where he won the Grand Prix Fotofestiwal Award. He had a solo show at Arden and Andstruther, Petworth, UK, in January 2008, and in October he will have a solo show at The New Art Gallery Walsall, UK. Brunelli was a finalist in the inaugural Sony World Photography Awards, which took place in April 2008 in Cannes.

Marcin Cienski, 'Head 3', 2007

MARCIN CIENSKI was born in 1976 in Krakow, Poland, where he studied at the Fine Arts Academy (1995-2000). He now lives in Berlin. Earlier this year he had a debut solo show in London at FRED [London] Ltd. He has also had solo shows at Galerie Binz & Krämer, Cologne, and Nova Gallery, Krakow. In 2006 he was nominated by Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst for a competition run by the Saatchi Gallery and the Guardian newspaper. He has been nominated for this year's Sovereign Art Prize.

Dominika Dratwa, 'Gluttony', 2008

DOMINIKA DRATWA was born in Wroclaw, Poland, in 1978. She completed a BFA in Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba in Canada in 2007 and now lives in Berlin. In 2006 she had her first solo show at Leslie's Contemporary Art Gallery, Bridel, Luxembourg, and in 2007 she had a solo show at Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art, Toronto.

Teiji Hayama, 'Virgine', 2008

TEIJI HAYAMA was born in Japan in 1975 and now lives in Switzerland. He graduated in 1998 from Central Saint Martins' College of Art & Design in London and returned to Japan for four years to work with the designer Issey Miyake. He has had solo shows at the Dorobushi Ginza & Hiroo Gallery in Tokyo, and at Galerie Bassins, Switzerland. His work has also been exhibited in several group shows at galleries, most recently in the show 'The Painting Room' at the Transition Gallery, London, and also at the Art Contemporary Museum Kumamoto, Japan, Villa Dutoit Geneva, Switzerland, and Art Génération Gallery, France.

Aleksandra Radonich, 'Where Dragons Live'

ALEKSANDRA RADONICH was born in 1984 in Panchevo, Serbia. She is currently a student of Philology at the University of Belgrade. She started taking photographs four years ago.

Magdalena Sadziak

MAGDALENA SADZIAK was born in 1976 in Warsaw, Poland. In 1996 she moved to Germany to study art and philosophy at Essen University. In 2002 she moved to Hamburg to study painting at HAW-Hamburg, Fachbereich Gestaltung (University for Applied Arts). She will take part in a group show in Hamburg at the Galerie Hafenrand in July 2008. She has exhibited her work in group shows in Berlin, Hamburg and Paris. In 2005 she won a painting scholarship for the International Summer Academy in Hamburg, and in 2006 she won the Audience Award for her work included in the exhibition, 'Elysee Kunstpreis für Malerei' (Elysee Art Prize for Painting) in Hamburg.

Marco Salvetti, 'Untitled'
MARCO SALVETTI was born in 1983 in Pietrasanta and lives in Massarosa, Lucca. He graduated in 2006 from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara, and since the beginning of this year has been studying with Flavio Favelli at the Scuderie di Palazzo Farnese, Caprarola (VT). In July 2006 he was selected by Alessandro Riva in Anno magazine as one of the top artists under 30; he was a finalist for the Premio Celeste 2006; and, also in 2006, he won the Italian Factory Award for Emerging Italian Painting.

Christian Schoenwaelder, 'Snoop', 2008

CHRISTIAN SCHOENWAELDER was born in Rostock in 1975 and lives in Dresden. He studied at HfbK Dresden and was a master student in the class of Eberhard Bosslet. His first solo show was held this year at Gallery Birgit Ostermeier in Berlin. His work has also been exhibited at the NRW-Forum for culture and economy, Düsseldorf, at the Kunsthalle Bergen (Norway), and at the National Gallery Bratislava (Slovakia).

Yury Toroptsov, 'Henri V'

YURY TOROPTSOV was born in 1974 in a small rural community near Vladivostok. He left Russia in 1998 to study in New York after having won a prestigious scholarship. In 2003 Toroptsov, then a consultant to the United Nations, decided to change his profession and follow his long-time passion - photography. Earlier this year he was given a solo show at the Maison Europeenne de la Photographie in Paris, and in June he will have a solo show during the International Festival Cinema & Costume at the National Centre of Costume, Moulins, France. His work has been exhibited in various group shows in Paris where he now lives.

Angelika J Trojnarski, 'Ahab', 2008

ANGELIKA J TROJNARSKI was born in 1979 in Mragowo, Poland, and left in 2004 to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, first under Herbert Brandl and, before his death in 2007, in the class of Jörg Immendorff. Trojnarski had her first solo show in LA at the Kinsey/DesFores Gallery in January 2008. Next year she will have a solo show at Anna Klinkhammer Galerie, Düsseldorf. She will also take part in a group exhibition entitled 'Klasse Immendorff' in August 2008.

Levi Van Veluw, 'Material Transfers'

LEVI VAN VELUW was born in 1985 in Hoevelaken, the Netherlands. From 2003-2007 he studied at the Artez School of Arts, Autonomous Arts, Arnhem, and in 2006 he interned with Erwin Olaf. He had a solo show this year at the RONMANDOS Gallery in Amsterdam, and has exhibited his work in several group shows in Amsterdam, London, Stockholm and Berlin. In 2007 he won Photographer of the Year (Fine Arts) at the IPA International Photo Awards.

Marta Volkova, 'I don't speak English, but I'm still a human being'

MARTA VOLKOVA was born in St Petersburg and studied at the Serov School of Art in St Petersburg. She participated actively in the underground art movement before moving to the Netherlands in 1991. Since 1999 she has been living in Maastricht. She has had several solo shows in Germany, Russia and the Netherlands, most recently at the Stevens Gallery, Maastricht. In August she will have an exhibition at the Palais für Actuelle Kunst, Glückstadt, Germany.

Jaap de Vries

JAAP DE VRIES lives in Breda, the Netherlands. Since registering on Saatchi Online in 2006 he has been invited by several galleries to exhibit his work. In September 2007 he had a solo show at the London gallery 20 Hoxton Square, and later this year he will be in a group show at Gallery Primo Alonso in London. He has been offered a solo exhibition at the FUEL Collection in Philadelphia in February 2009, and his work was shown with Gallery Majke Husstege at ART AMSTERDAM in May. He has been nominated for the Wim Izaksstipendium 2008, NL, and for the Sovereign European Art Prize 2008. His work has been acquired by the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
