Ashley Rawlings graduated with a BA in Japanese studies from the
University of Cambridge. In 2005, he moved to Tokyo, where he was a
research student in post-war Japanese art at Sophia University, and
worked as a freelance editor, writer and translator. His articles on
the Tokyo art scene have appeared in Japanese and international
publications including the Japan Times, ArtAsiaPacific
and Artforum.com. In 2009, he moved to New York, where he works
as features editor of ArtAsiaPacific.
