  • Mark Harris is having a solo show at Galleria Aus18 in Milan (29 September - 6 November 2009). His work was seen on the Saatchi Online stand at Scope by the curator of the exhibition Cecilia Antolini.


  • Anthea Bush is in a group show 'Blinde Vlekken' at XPO/WG Kunst 28 Marius van Bouwdijk Bastiaansestraat 28. The exhibition runs from 11 September until 11 October.


  • Elena Bajo is in two group shows, one at White Columns in New York until 24 October and the other at the A Foundation in London until 4 October.


  • After a two-month scholarship residence in 'Kulturbahnhof Eller', Germany, Angelika J. Trojnarski is showing new work at the Kulturbahnhof Eller, Vennhauser Alle 89, Düsseldorf, Germany (23 August - 13 September 2009), www.kultur-bahnhof-eller.de


  • Alex Crocker is showing new paintings in 'Perfect Answers for Perfect Questions' (23 - 30 August 2009) at Factory Projects, The Perfume Factory, 140 Wales Farm Road, London W3 6UG.


  • Oliver Bedeman is in a group show at The Menier Gallery, 51 Southwark Street, London SE1 (8th - 12th September 2009. The exhibition, curated by William Feaver, presents a collection of work from six young painters resident at the Princes Drawing School in London.

  • Laura Yuile will be participating in a group show at Nettie Horn in London titled 'by product' (6 - 23 August). Yuile's work was seen by the curator of this exhibition, Fozia Khaliq, at the Saatchi Gallery's and Channel 4's New Sensations show in October 2008.



  • Damien Flood is in a group show, 'Dawning of an Aspect', at Green on Red Gallery in Dublin (9 July - 15 August 2009).



  • Jamie Partridge is in a group show curated by Kobetsvasey at Schwartz Gallery, White Post Lane, London E9 (10 July - 2 August 2009).


  • Will Corwin is in a group show, 'The Young and the Restless: Part 2', at Michael Steinberg Fine Art (7-18 July, Michael Steinberg Fine Art, 526 West 26th Street, 2nd Floor, Chelsea, New York).


  • Koya Abe is showing work from a new project, "Digital Art Chapter 5: Analogies", in the "Ingres et les modernes" exhibition at the Ingres Museum in Montauban, France. The show is curated by Dimitri Salmon of the Louvre (3 July - 4 October, Musee Ingres, Montauban).


  • Juliana Beasley will be showing photographs from her new series "Eyes of Salamanca" about Mennonites from Southern Yucatan in a group show at Daniel Cooney Gallery in New York (June 25-July 31; T: +1 212 255 8158; www.danielcooneyfineart.com).


  • Carla Busuttil is in a group show at the Schwartz Gallery at White Post Quay, 92 White Post Lane, London, E9 5EN (10 July - 2 August).


  • Yuri Toroptsov is exhibiting six photos from his "Marilyn and I" series at the 40th edition of The Rencontres d'Arles photo festival in the South of France from July 7 through August 30, 2009.



  • Toby Christian is in a group show entitled 'The Fairy Tale Art Collection' at Theatre 34, 34 Hereford Road, London W2 5AJ (20 June - 11 July). Other artists in the exhibition include Gavin Turk, Peter Blake, Francis Upritchard, Fiona Banner and Enrico David.


  • Mark Davey is in a group show at 46 Camden Road, London NW1 (29 June - 11 July).


  • Mequitta Ahuja is in a group show at Rosa and Rosa gallery on Clifford Street in London W1 (17 June - 31 July).



  • Henny Aclocque's first solo show is at Ceri Hand in Liverpool, 3 July - 8 August.


  • Josh Lilley opened a new gallery in London in May with a group show of emerging painters entitled 'Daily Miracles', including Saatchi Online artists Vicky Wright, Carla Busuttil, Matthew Musgrave, Nick Goss and Ian Whitfield (15 May - 12 June 2009).


  • Angelika J Trojnarski is in a group show entitled 'Beyond Curiosity' with Laura Lechner and Martina Nitsche. The exhibition is at GALERIE ROWLAND|KUTSCHERA, Baumbachstraße 17, 13189 Berlin, from 21 June to 26 September.


  • Sarah Maple, winner of New Sensations 2007, is taking part in a group show called UK's Future Greats at Salon Gallery in London, until 11 July.


  • Gareth Cadwallader (exhibited with Saatchi Online at FORM 2008), Rob Sherwood (joint winner of New Sensations 2008), and Victor Timofeev (exhibited with Satachi Online at Pulse 2008, New York) are showing at The Peckham Pavilion, Castello 1829, Via Garibaldi, Venice, 3 - 10 June 2009.


  • Hannah Dakin is showing in an exhibition entitled 'Travelling Light' London > Venice, at 622, Fondamenta Bragadin, Dorsoduro 30123 Venice, 6-10 June 2009. The exhibition is curated by Debra Wilson, Chiara Williams and Sophie Wilson. She also has work in 'Instant' at Touchstones Rochdale Art Gallery, Gallery 3, The Esplanade, Rochdale, 21 March - 14 June.


  • Alex Crocker is showing work in an exhibition of 2009 graduates from the RCA's Painting MA. The exhibition is at the A Foundation, Arnold Circus, Shoreditch, London, 17 - 25 June 2009.


  • Toby Christian has a solo show at the Fold Gallery, London, 16 May - 14 June 2009.


  • Maurizio Anzeri has a series of works in 'The Photographic Object' at the Photographers' Gallery in London, along with Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, Catherine Yass and Wolfgang Tillmans. The show runs until 14 June.


  • Carla Busuttil (exhibited with Saatchi Online at FORM 2008 and at Saatchi Online's exhibition as part of the Concrete and Glass festival, 2008), Aidan Doherty (shortlisted for New Sensations 2008), Matt Musgrave (shortlisted for New Sensations 2008), Jamie Partridge (shortlisted for New Sensations 2008), Paul Taylor (shortlisted for Saatchi Online's Your Gallery and the Guardian exhibition, 2007), have been chosen to be in the Jerwood Contemporary Painters exhibition 2009, 22 April to 31 May 2009.


  • Giacomo Brunelli is showing three photographs of animals in a group show AFFLUENZA at 187-211 St John St, Clerkenwell, London, EC1, 19-28 March.


  • Maurizio Anzeri will have his debut solo show at London's Riflemaker gallery, 20 April - 26 May.


  • Petros Chrisostomou is in a group show at Ileana Tounta Centre for Contemporary Art in Athens, 9 October - 15 November 2008.

  • 'Drawing the Line' , a collaborative experiential multi-media installation created by artists Theresa A. Anderson and Kim Harrell opens Friday, March 13, with a public reception from 5 - 9 pm, at anderson's art box. 1556 Florence Street, 80010 in Aurora.   A Tea &  Talk  will be held with the two artists discussing their collaborative piece on Saturday, March 14th at 2 pm.  The exhibit is open for general viewing on March 13 & 14 from noon - 5.30pm. The exhibition and the talk are free and open to the public. 


  • A solo show of photographs by Aaron Schuman, entitled Once Upon a Time in The West, will be at London's HOST Gallery from 14 April - 9 May. http://www.hostgallery.co.uk


  • Paul Hazelton has a new work in a group show AFFLUENZA at 187-211 St John St, Clerkenwell, London, EC1, 19-28 March.


  • Leonard Brett has a show at Seymour Art Gallery, Vancouver, 31 March to 19 April.


  • Saatchi Online artist Marta Volkova (whose work was exhibited on the Saatchi Online stand at Scope Basel 2008) and Slava Shevelenko are showing new paintings at the Marres Centre for Contemporary Culture in Maastricht until 31 May 2009.


  • Teiji Hayama, whose work was exhibited on the Saatchi Online stand at the Scope art fair in Basel, is having his debut solo show in Dusseldorf at Patrik Loschert Galerie T40. The dates for the exhibition entitled INNOCENCE are 7 March - 17 April.




FIVE SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS SELECTED FOR 2009 JERWOOD CONTEMPORARY PAINTERS

The Jerwood Charitable Foundation has announced the 26 artists selected for the third Jerwood Contemporary Painters exhibition, including five Saatchi Online artists featured in New Sensations 2008, Saatchi Online's Concrete & Glass exhibition (2008) and Saatchi Online's Guardian exhibition in 2006. Carla Busuttil, Aidan Doherty, Matthew Musgrave, Paul Taylor and Jamie Partridge are among the 26 emerging artists selected to show their work at an exhibition in London in April.




SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS AT SCOPE LONDON 2008

As part of our continuing efforts to promote Saatchi Online artists, Saatchi Online presented a selection of UK-based artists registered on the site at this year's SCOPE art fair in London in October 2008. This follows our success promoting and selling the work of Saatchi Online artists at the Zoo Art Fair in London in October 2007, at FORM London in February 2008, at PULSE New York in March 2008, and at SCOPE Basel 2008 in June 2008.

The Saatchi Online artists invited to exhibit their work at SCOPE London were all UK-based and were chosen from our weekly Saatchi Online Magazine Critic's Choice and Top 10s. We promoted and sold their work at the fair on a non-commission basis; all money from sales went directly to the artists.

4 NEW SENSATIONS

After the success of the first 4 New Sensations prize launched in 2007, Channel 4 and The Saatchi Gallery held the 4 New Sensations competition in 2008 for all UK art students. Students graduating from BA and MA courses at UK colleges and universities were invited to enter the competition with work from their 2008 degree shows.

In July 2008, the four finalists were chosen to create their new work for the final exhibition at the Truman Brewery which also featured work from the 20 shortlisted artists.

The 2008 winners - one chosen by the judges - artist Yinka Shonibare MBE, Maureen Paley, the founder of the London gallery, Maureen Paley, critic and broadcaster Matthew Collings, and David Roberts, collector and founder of Gallery One One One in London - and one chosen by a public vote, were Mark Davey and Robert Sherwood. Davey, who was chosen by the judges, received £3000, and Robert Sherwood, who won the public vote, was given £1000.

Dates of New Sensations 2009 will be announced in May 2009.

SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS EXHIBITION AT CONCRETE AND GLASS, LONDON

Saatchi Online artists exhibited at the Concrete and Glass festival in Shoreditch in October 2008 in an exhibition curated by Flora Fairburn. 20 London-based artists were selected from Saatchi Online Magazine's weekly Critics Choice to take part in the event. To find out more please click here.




CHANNEL 4's BIG 4 COMPETITION

Congratulations to Stephanie Imbeau who won the Channel 4's BIG 4 public art competition. Her design was unveiled outside the Channel 4 headquarters in August 2008. To find out more click here. The competition was launched To celebrate both Channel 4's 25th anniversary and the opening of the Big Art Project Channel 4. A panel of arts experts launched this competition for Saatchi Online artists and art students who graduated from a UK art school or university in 2006 or 2007, to design a sculpture incorporating the huge Channel 4 logo installed outside their headquarters in London. HARPERCOLLINS BOOK COVER DESIGN COMPETITION

Congratulations to Becca Thorne who won the HarperCollins competition. Her winning design is on the cover of the hardback edition of The Last Days of the Lacuna Cabal by Sean Dixon published on 1 July 2008. SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE

Congratulations to Saatchi Online photographer Arup Ghosh who was the overall winner of the amateur 2008 Sony World Photography Prize. Congratulations also to the 100 photographers chosen to be exhibited on the Saatchi Online wall in Cannes. CONGRATULATIONS TO SAATCHI ONLINE ART STUDENTS IN 4 NEW SENSATIONS EXHIBITION 2007

Congratulations to all the Saatchi Online Art Students whose work was exhibited in London during 'Frieze' week in October 2007. The 4 New Sensations exhibition at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane was a great success, following on from the Channel 4 programmes featuring the 4 winning finalists. Several artists sold work from the show and have also been approached by galleries to exhibit their work.

  • The works by Marcus Lanyon and Mark Melvin were acquired by the Zabludowicz Collection.


  • Mie Olise Kjaergaard sold her work to a private collector and was offered her first solo show in London next March at the Alexia Goethe Gallery.


  • Sarah Maple's work has gone to the Channel 4 art collection.


  • Louise Thomas sold her work to a private collector and was invited to participate in a group show at the Primo Alonso gallery in London next year.


  • Tori Murphy sold two works to a private collector. Victoria McGeoch sold her work to a private collector.


  • Gemma Nelson sold her work to a private collector and was asked to show one of her paintings from the 4 New Sensations exhibition in a forthcoming show at a gallery in Devon.


  • Eleanor Lindsay-Fynn was invited to show her work at the Salon gallery in London.


  • Toby Christian was nominated for ArtFutures 2008 and showed his work in this exhibition in London this March.


  • Stewart Clelland was invited to be in the crtl_alt _del sound festival in Istanbul and will also have an exhibition in the Royal Scottish Academy in March in Edinburgh.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS AT ZOO ART FAIR 2007

This was the first time that we had shown the work of Saatchi Online at an art fair. Twenty artists chosen from the weekly Critic's Picks on Saatchi Online's daily magazine were invited to exhibit their work at the Zoo art fair in London. The work represented the range of work registered on Saatchi Online and we had very positive feedback about the concept of Saatchi Online and the standard of the work in the Saatchi Online exhibition. All the work at the exhibition was for sale on a non-commission basis.

  • Works by the following artists were sol at the exhibition: John Burke, Robin Cracknell, Robert Szot, Ursula Sokolowska, Oliver Clegg, Caron Geary, Caterina Lira Pereira, Cecelia Post and Nicole Morris.


  • Edgar Martins was offered representation by the Paul Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles.


  • Caron Geary was offered a solo show at a gallery in Spain.


  • Monika Bielskyte was invited to have a solo show at FOAM, the photography museum in Amsterdam this year.


  • Jaap de Vries and Paul Hazelton's work was included in a show called 'Decadence, Decay and the Demimonde '.


  • Jaap de Vries's painting was bought on the opening night.




CONGRATULATIONS TO SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS AT FORM ART FAIR 2008

Congratulations to all the Saatchi Online artists whose work was exhibited at the Saatchi Online stand at FORM 2008 which took place at Olympia in London (28 February - 2 March 2008). 15 works were sold in total by Saatchi Online artists Maurizio Anzeri, Carla Busuttil, Alex Crocker, Poppy Jones, Mie Olise Kjaergaard, Sarah Douglas and Whitney McVeigh. The work of these artists was sold free of any commission with the prices ranging from £400 to £3000.




SAATCHI ONLINE AT PULSE ART FAIR 2008

Congratulations to all the artists chosen to exhibit their work on the Saatchi Online stand at Pulse Art Fair in New York. In total 31 works were sold with 9 out of the 15 artists whose work was exhibited selling work. Saatchi Online takes no commission from either artist or buyer. The artists who sold work at the fair are: Juliana Beasley, Sarah Bereza, Hannah Bureau, Dana Lauren Goldstien, Koya Abe, Sara Rahbar, Jennifer Sanchez, Alix Smith and Viktor Timofeev. Artists also exhibiting were Elena Bajo, Julian Beasley, Derek Buckner, Kenichi Hoshine, Shay Kun, Amy Stein, Haeri Yoo.




SAATCHI ONLINE AT SCOPE BASEL 2008

A selection of European artists registered on the site exhibited at this year's SCOPE art fair in Basel. 25 works exhibited on the Saatchi Online stand were sold at the fair on a non-commission basis. The artists who sold work are: Lena Sadziak, Maurizio Anzeri, Jaap de Vries, Marco Salvetti, Teiji Hayama, Aleksandra Radonich, Angelika J Trojnarski and Giacomo Brunelli.   • Mark Dakota whose video sound piece "YES" was included in the USA selection for the World One Minutes exhibition, June 6 - 28th June at the Today Art Museum in Beijing.

The list of 500 individuals, representing ten business categories, was developed in partnership with trade publications and judges.


  • Congratulations also to all Saatchi Online artists who exhibited in "AND, WHO ARE YOU?" at the Sara Tecchia Gallery in New York last year. This was the first exhibition of Saatchi Online artists in America and was curated by Ana Finel Honigman, the New York correspondent on the Saatchi Online Daily Magazine. The exhibition was made up of eleven Saatchi Online artists from the New York area.
