The winner of the January Saatchi Online Studio competition is Patricia J from the US. Alix Rule, Saatchi Online Berlin correspondent, comments: 'Patricia J's trim images are electrified by an alternating current. While it runs in one direction, her compositions appear as adept abstractions, nimble games in color and geometry. Flicked into the other, a window opens on the metaphysical vistas of de Chirico's Turin.' The Saatchi Gallery will donate £500 in the artist's name to a children's hospital of her choice.

KATE CARY EVANS TO JUDGE FEBRUARY'S SAATCHI ONLINE STUDIO COMPETITION
The critic and Saatchi Online magazine contributor Kate Cary Evans will judge the February Saatchi Online Studio competition. Saatchi Online Studio enables artists to create works online using a sophisticated palette of colours, brushes and other materials. Anyone is free to create and save as many paintings or drawings as they wish in Saatchi Online Studio either in their own name or anonymously. We will announce the winner of February's Saatchi Online Studio competition on Friday 27 February. The Saatchi Gallery will then donate £500 to a children's hospital around the world chosen by the winner. |
