Kurimanzutto is something of an institution in Mexico City; the marquee artists of contemporary Mexican Art - Gabriel Orozco, Damián Ortega, Miguel Calderón - all call the gallery home. To mark the occasion of both their ninth anniversary and the inauguration of a massive new space (a former lumberyard), the gallery asked the 16 artists on their roster, plus six guest artists, for the contents of the bookshelf in their studio. The resulting show "Market Economy" - displayed on some 30 industrial-sized shelving units - is an exuberant, though sometimes rudderless affair featuring just about everything imaginable - live frogs, meteorites, and, yes, some books.
