EMERGING ARTIST OF THE WEEK: ALISON BRADY AT MASSIMO AUDIELLO, NEW YORK
Alison Brady graduated in 2006 with an MFA from the School Of Visual Arts in New York. With the help of simple props - fishing wire, salami slices, filthy bed sheets - she arranges homemade Grand Guignol scenes, where friends and strangers are invited into a performance of the artist's projection into an absurd reality. The result is both a humourous and disturbing body of work that explores unconscious emotions, desires and sexual compulsions.

Kowalski Hansen's new project mixes some beautiful sign-making with his (trademark) community action spirit.
New paintings from the recent St Martins grad, concerned with the aftermath of industrialisation, landscape, nature and science fiction realities created on earth.
This week's Emerging Artist is Duncan Swann, whose paintings raise notions of power and dominance by exploring the visual representation of Western Colonialism.
