Selected international artists for the first physical screening in Australia and launch of HEP - Human Emotion Project. Melbourne's on fire as emotions soar amidst the hot smoke with HEP. The opening and screening of the Human Emotion Project. I viewed the video works by Adamo Macri. Two associated pieces Slide and One Onion Canon. Both in black & white with lots of negative and positive play. From what I read, it involved the idea of film noir as an approach to portraiture. Ever-changing frames of a character demonstrating psychological transitions. Leaping from one state to another, slowly absorbing the viewer within a glided vortex of self-awareness. Haunting, dark and mysterious. Hard to believe that it was all the same guy, at times he came across as animalistic.
