STRANGE BODIES AT THE HIRSHHORN MUSEUM, WASHINGTON DC
'Strange Bodies' brings together some of the most praised and popular examples of figuration from the Hirshhorn's collection to show how expressionistic and surrealistic impulses toward human representation have evolved from the early and mid-20th century to recent decades. The exhibition features works by Alberto Giacometti, Jean Dubuffet, Willem de Kooning, Francis Bacon, Balthus, René Magritte , Magdalena Abakanowicz, Georg Baselitz, Lucian Freud, Robert Gober, Julian Schnabel, Franz West, Janine Antoni, Matthew Barney, John Currin, Ron Mueck, and Lisa Yuskavage. I have to say the narrator in this video comes off as not so bright! Making some very obvious statements. Saying that the exhibition looks of a very high standard, love Schutte's work and am always blown away by Ron Mueck's scutptures, truely breathtaking.
