Crisis is a siv?!!! haha, what a statement! No matter what is going on, you have to look at all this from up above like you're flying overhead as it all goes by on the ground. You are aware of what's happening and it's effects on your existence. As an artist you should keep soaring over it all.

Big love for the big guy. Witty and funny... It is hard to disagree with him too!!!!

hard economic times mean you need to commit more and find other ways of being creative. An independent income is always great, but less work means more time in the studio BUT less money to spend on materials. It IS hard to paint in a vacuum when galleries are not taking on new artist, closing down etc and the number of avenues to exhibit are reduced. But we weren't in it for the money, and being true artists all, we will find a way to continue making the art

Very true thought about the time when US art was at its strongest. Wish it were possible for a film as good as Emilio de Antonio's Painters Painting to be made now -- Chuck would be good in it.

Making art has never been an issue that's attached to the economy for me because I have always had an outside job to support my painting. Since there are few outside jobs available currently there is more time for work in the studio.
