| Richard Jackson works on the final canvas for his work 'wall painting' in the exhibition TARGET PRACTICE Painting under attack 1949-1978 at the Seattle Art Museum, until September 7, 2009. 'Target Practice' is an international, historical survey of the attacks that painting endured in the years following World War II. For the artists in the show, painting had become a trap, and they devised numerous ways to escape the conventions and break the traditions that had been passed down to them over hundreds of years.
