It's a shame that the guy died BUT It seems like all the New York airhead hipster art groupies will be sobbing into their Pabst beers for a few months as they come to terms with their overreaction to the death of a mediocre artist, who hailed from a rich and well connected dynasty of art collectors.
Let's face it....he was in the art world because of his position in society and the fact that his boring art work/lifestyle seemed at odds with his background titillated the vaccuous morons who populate the New York art scene who then deemed it necessary to bestow upon him some mythical status.
When is New York going to grow up and celebrate real talent, instead of the hyped up hipster lightweights who choose art making and pseudo dropping out as just another lifestyle option. grimviewer 12-08-2009 |

Im amazed at what passes as "Important" in the Art World today(09.08.2009) as an Artist I am forever amazed at what grabs the worlds attention, I was born in 1961 and I have watched as many AMAZINGLY TALENTED artists have died from drug overdoses and it blows my mind that all you need do now is take photo's of parties with your friends and masturbate, urinate and spit on some collages and newspapers and your compared to Jean-Michel Basquiat....WOW maybe we should raise the bar a LITTLE bit higher...
