"Cave Painting," organized by Bob Nickas, brings together works by 40 artists who are engaged with picture-making manifested within a painting practice. This show follows another with the same title that was presented in Berlin at PSM Gallery in June 2009 that evolved as a result of Nickas's research for his book, Painting Abstraction, published by Phaidon Press.

I agree with Dan Adams - the cave is much more
interesting than the work - as the narrator mentions. In fairness, one could substitute
paintings by most of the best known post-
modern painters for the present show and the
walls and plant equipment would still be more
interesting.
The "cave" has visual cohesiveness, harmony,
and organization born out of pure utilitarian
purpose enhanced by aged patinas and textures
which are not random, as might be supposed,
but conform to Fractal geometry which we
respond to because it is both natural and
fundamental.
What does it say when an ordinary and decaying
basement has way more visual interest than

cool! the exhibition space itself is 'art'. wish i could join them! shaifur rahman 09-11-2009
The "cave" overpowers the artwork and is more interesting. Judging by the artwork, painting is not dead, just boring down in the cave. dan adams/dannnnnnna 09-11-2009
I think this is brilliant! Frankkky 09-11-2009
Brilliant concept, brilliant venue, brilliant and inspiring work, I feel it all fits well and becomes elegantly complete with a mysterious intrigue.
Thanks for bringing us this. Ron Jamieson Ron Jamieson 09-11-2009
