Mandii Pope Dubai Art Exhibition Mercato Mall 5-7 Nov

by Mandii Pope

Mandii Pope (b. Amanda Grace Pope 1977) Kiwi Artist Mandii Pope has lived, worked, exhibited and sent commissions to a variety of countries; London, New Zealand, Dubai, Australia, USA, Italy, Germany, Cyprus, Spain. Regular visits are made back to NZ which will always be home however currently Mandii is living in Putney London having just completed a series of works for the “City of Love where dreams do come true” exhibition in the venetian themed Mercato in Dubai in November. Her works have been bought, commissioned and collected by people from all over the world.

A percentage of the sales at the Exhibition will be donated to the Dubai Autism Center. A huge thank you to Johnny Miller whom has organised everything behind the scenes and offered this fantastic opportunity, the Mercato for the fabulous venue and the chance to support a great cause, Owen Glenn and Ian Gill from Vanguard Logistics for the shipping and storage of all of the artwork to Dubai from London, and those purchasing the artwork contributing to the charity…

Originally from New Zealand, successful kiwi artist Mandii Pope has been living/working from London for the last 5 years. During this time in London the first few years were spent travelling around seeing the world, the last 2 have been more settled focusing on painting. Pop Art was not a style she used before 2 years ago, prefering the challenge of creating photo-real paintings, however the Pop Art Portraits seem to have proved to be quite popular. To avoid being pigeon holed Mandii paints in a variety of styles eg: Pop Art, Fantasy, Photo Realism, Abstract, Contemporary, Minimalism, Retro, Photo Real Landscapes/Portraits, Monocromatic imagery etc to stay challenged, interested and always prepared to try something new. Most works are pre-sold ‘commissions to order’ selling them around the globe.

Some works are displayed in a gallery in Parsons Green/Fulham in London and a couple are in the prestigious Grade 2 listed Landmark Business Centre’s Serviced Office buildings in Royal Mint Court (opposite the Tower of London and in Lombard Street in Bank) opposite the Bank of England in the city of London; http://www.landmarkplc.com plus a number of restaurants in New Zealand and Greater London (opposite Windsor Castle).

In 2006 Mandii donated a 4ft x 6ft painting of St Pauls to St Barts Hospital, raising £1000 for Heart Cell Research in a celebrity star-studded Winter Ball event (see links).

Mandii creates funky paintings from photo originals or any image in any style you wish. Feel free to browse the website to see some of the many examples of Mandii’s work. If you like something, why don’t you get in touch? See whether ‘that exclusive gift for someone special’ could be produced, maybe something distinctive for yourself, or maybe you might want to rent, buy, or commission a piece for the office.

Come - take a look around …Enjoy the exhibition both at the Mercato and online. www.mandiipope.com
