| Meunier’s initial series of painting titled Les sceaux (seals) is made up of small, built-up, drops of paint. From these drops, the single seal of a drawing appears: strokes, lines and scraps, like an indecipherable code. From Les sceaux is born Des bouteilles (Bottles), a second series of paintings made from the strokes of paint left by the bottles, a tool of application essential in producing the seals. A signature found, excluding the intention of gesture. |
