| Samuel Chow is completing his MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His visual arts work extends to film and video. Chow’s film “Banana Boy” (2003, Digital Video and Super 8, 7 min, English and Cantonese) won the 2003 Reel Asian International Film Festival Emerging Artist Award and was subsequently adapted for CBC Radio in 2005. “Banana Boy” was one of 10 short films in a special program curated by MoMA (Museum of Modern Art in New York City), Another Wave: Global Queer Cinema, Part 2 -- Cross-Cultural Jam, and shown on September 13 and 14, 2006, at MoMA. Chow’s film was the only 21st Century film selected for
the program. Toronto’s V-Tape represents Chow’s film work. In January 2008, Chow will have his inaugural solo exhibition with Craig Scott Gallery.
